How Colloidal Silver Works
The physical presence of a true colloidal silver particle near a virus, fungus, bacterium or any other single-celled pathogen disables its oxygen metabolism enzyme. This process suffocates and kills the pathogen. The pathogen is then cleared out of the body. The colloidal silver particle is then set free again to continue the attack on other pathogens. This creates a strong multiplier effect increasing the effectiveness and impact.
Body tissues having 5 parts per million (5 ppm) of colloidal silver will be free of viruses, fungus, and bacterium. Silver particles are long lived in the body because they do not enter into a reaction, but act catalytically. A catalyst is a substance that brings about, or causes a reaction or occurrence without itself participating or being consumed. Colloidal silver acts as a catalyst in disabling a particular enzyme as it transfers oxygen and nutrients through the cell walls of the disease-causing organism. The organism suffocates! Catalytic Oxidation: Silver naturally holds onto oxygen molecules, which readily react with sulfhydral (H) groups that surround bacterial and viruses. Reaction with Bacterial Cell Membranes: Silver particles can attach to bacterial cell membranes directly and produce the same respiration-blocking effect.

Binding with DNA: Shown to literally enter bacteria DNA, up to 12% of silver has been detected in Pseudomonas aerugenosa. While it remains unclear exactly how the silver binds to the DNA without destroying the hydrogen bonds holding the lattice together, it nevertheless prevents the DNA from unwinding, an essential step for cellular replication to occur.

Antibiotics are consumed during the process. Once a bacterial infection is neutralized, the antibiotic component is also neutralized. Large doses of antibiotics are usually given over several days to help compensate for this design flaw.
